| The
day care unit is under the charge of an experienced and well-qualified
Sister who is committed to an holistic approach to patient care. The
service includes access to specialist palliative medical and nursing
advice and treatment, Macmillan and specialist nurse input, physiotherapy
and occupational therapy, social worker support and spiritual and
religious guidance and counselling. There is a hairdressing and beauty therapy salon staffed by volunteers and patients have access to the Hospice Complementary Therapy service. A wide range of recreational pursuits are organised including day trips and visits to local centres.
