Services_ Bereavement Support Group

The Bereavement Support Group is held on the 1st Thursday of every month at 7.30pm in the Day Hospice lounge. The group is facilitated by a volunteer Bereavement Support Scheme Co-ordinator (employed by Age Concern) and is supported by the Hospice Chaplain, Matron and a volunteer (Healthcare Assistant). The group is very informal and offers people the opportunity to share similar experiences in an environment that aims to be sensitive, relaxed and supportive.
The aim of the group is to enable relatives and friends to journey through their experience of loss, to ease the pain that that brings and to promote healing.
A letter of invitation to attend the group is usually sent out 6 weeks following the death of a patient. A warm welcome awaits you.
